Hermit Crabs
Hermit means living alone. Unlike lobsters and crabs, Hermit crabs have no shell of its own and they inhabit discarded shells. As the hermit crab grows in size, it must find a larger shell and abandon the previous one. Hence the name. Caribbean, Australian, and the Ecuadorian hermit crabs are commonly kept as pets. A baby crab is called a zoea. Baby hermit crabs are born in the water but they adapt to life on land as they grow.
